Marketing Copywriter

The Seattle Times, the Pulitzer Prize-winning multimedia company, is actively seeking a dynamic, creative Marketing Copywriter. On this team, you will conceive and create compelling copy for marketing campaigns, advertisements, sales flyers, media kits and more across multi-media platforms. We like succinct, snappy copy; attention-grabbing headlines and compelling calls to action that are tailored to each target audience and marketing strategy.

 

Ideally, you are:

  • Equally adept at crafting effective copy while copyediting/proofreading for grammar, consistency and adherence to company brand and style.
  • A conceptual thinker who thrives in an always-changing, fast-paced and often ambiguous work environment.
  • An autonomous self-starter who is proactive in presenting ideas and incorporating feedback.
  • A creative and persistent problem-solver with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Collaborative and open to learning, with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Focused on producing error-free, quality work efficiently and on deadline.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience: Three or more years of copywriting experience at an agency, media company, in-house creative team or marketing department. Working knowledge of AP style a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline with a writing focus.
  • Exemplary grammar, punctuation and spelling skills, with a finely tuned ear for language and a diverse vocabulary
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word.

 

This position is a union-represented position and will require union dues be paid every month.
