The Seattle Times, the Pulitzer Prize-winning media company, is looking for a part-time, temporary News Assistant who can compile music listings for print and web publication and complete other small editorial tasks, as needed. This person should be extremely detail-oriented, as they will be responsible for producing comprehensive listings with many factual details, and all must be correct. Interest and knowledge of Seattle-area entertainment venues, bands and shows is a plus. Successful candidates should be able to analyze facts while making sound judgment about relevance, newsworthiness, fairness, etc., while under pressure and on deadline.
This is a 3-month temporary assignment with approximately 16 hours per week scheduled. Weekly schedule may vary, include weekends, and requires flexibility from week to week.
