The Seattle Times, a family-owned news organization and one of the nation’s premier regional news sources, is looking for a talented Photographer to join our Pulitzer Prize-winning newsroom. In this temporary position, you will directly support our photo department with a variety of assignments ranging from major league sports to spot news and magazine features. Because the Times is a digital-first newsroom, you should possess the speed and accuracy necessary to report visually across multiple platforms.
Capture high-resolution digital photographs and document events and news to support in telling our stories the best way possible.
Eagerly dive into our robust local sports scene while enterprising stories on and off the field.
Chase breaking news and develop story ideas in our diverse community.
Promote the Time’s credibility while portraying pictures precisely by gathering complete information and writing thorough, accurate photo captions.
Contribute to and elevate our standard of creating top tier photo and videos in journalism.

Experience: Minimum one year of experience at a news organization, including extensive sports coverage.
Passion and demonstrated ability in photography.
Developed communication skills.
Must be able to commit to an irregular schedule, including nights and weekends, to accommodate events (especially Sports events), while working a full-time schedule. This temporary assignment is expected to last approximately five months, beginning in early December.
This position requires a criminal background check and drug screen on a post-offer basis, as well as a personal vehicle, driver’s license, and proof of insurance while working on behalf of The Seattle Times.
